Showroom Grand Opening June 24! We have been in the building industry for over 40 years and in the triangle for 12 years but are now opening a showroom to better meet our clients needs. The new 1700 square foot showroom features a variety of products from cabinets and appliances to tile and countertop material. Local artist Warren Anthony Hicks' custom tile (warrenhicks.com) will be featured as examples of the one of a kind tile work that he and The Kitchen and Bath People are exploring. In the future, the showroom will be open for potential and current clients by appointment only. The Grand Opening is open to the public from 2 to 6 on Wednesday June 24th with a ribbon cutting at 2:30. The showroom is located at 1311 Copeland Oaks Dr. Morrisville, NC 27560. Rita's ice will be catering with frozen treats and the coffee bar will be open for demonstrations and drinks. Is Granite Safe? As a Kitchen and Bathroom remodeling business we represent multiple countertop materials, without preference, simply informing clients of the properties of various surface choices. We want you to feel informed about any surface or product in your home. In recent media publications, concerns about the safety of granite have been raised. The particular point of concern is the amount of radon that is released by the natural stone. In rebuttal to their competitors, the manufacturers of natural stone launched an in depth study to test over 800 kinds of stone. They hired the scientists at Environmental Health and Engineering Inc of Needham, MA in order to prove or disprove the claims about radon emissions. The results show that the amount of radon emitted by granite countertops is so low that granite does not pose a health concern. There will always be natural radon emissions from the products in our homes and even the products that we eat. (The EPA recommends that if you are concerned you should have your home inspected.) You may be surprised to know that about 60% of the radon emissions occurring around your home are let out from the very soil it was built upon. Miele's Award Winning Products (pictured to right) We are pleased to inform you of the recognition our premium appliance manufacturer has been receiving over the past year. The have just introduced "smudge and scratch" free stainless surfaces. The stainless is actually covered by a thin layer of glass. They have also taken things a step further with their WI-FI Remote Vision™ technology. Miele explains, "If a door is accidentally left open, an alert will be activated. If you're away from the refrigerator, Miele will be notified and will contact you shortly thereafter," through the method you specify, by either emailing or calling you. Kitchen and Bath People offer Laser Etching Services We are pleased to offer laser etching services for multiple surfaces to more completely meet the needs of our clients. At our open showroom for remodelers we showed off our abilities by engraving bamboo cutting boards as giveaways. The etching machine has the capability of etching into most flat household surfaces including: granite, marble, glass, wood, leather, canvas, plastic and more. You can custom design your own backplash, engrave your child's artwork or hand prints into tile for a permanent memory, etch personal photographs into stone for display, or etch your logo into a variety of surfaces if you own your own business.
